Home-Grown, Home-Cooked, Wholesome Meals at Camp W
At Camp W, we believe that nourishing our bodies with care and intention is as important as the adventures we embark on. That’s why we’re proud to serve incredible, primarily* plant-based meals that fuel our campers for action-packed days in the wilderness.
What Sets Our Kitchen Apart?
• Expertly Designed Menus: Our full-time Chef and Dietitian craft balanced menus to ensure every meal is nutritious, delicious, and energizing.
• Homegrown and Locally Sourced: Many of our fruits, vegetables, and eggs are grown right on our homestead. We also partner with local farms and CSAs to source fresh, seasonal produce.
• Sustainable Practices: We use organic methods and honor natural cycles that guide the care of our land, plants, and animals throughout the year.
• Prepared with Love: Each dish is sourced and cooked with care, and the love shines through in every bite.
A Unique Dining Experience
Campers enjoy their meals either family-style in our dining hall or picnic-style outdoors, making mealtime a joyful celebration of community and connection.
Commitment to Sustainability
We prioritize hand labor in much of our kitchen work to reduce emissions and deepen our connection with the ecosystem we are privileged to steward.
Dietary Notes:
While we strive to accommodate all dietary needs, please note:
• Our open-air kitchen cannot guarantee a 100% nut- or gluten-free environment.
• Our vegetarian menu is crafted with care to offer a variety of wholesome options.
At Camp W, meals are more than just food—they’re an experience of togetherness, sustainability, and love.
Our Gardens: A Source of Bounty and Beauty
Camp W’s biodynamic gardens and food forests are a cornerstone of our commitment to sustainability and nourishment. Using our greenhouse to jump-start the growing season, we produce literal tons of vegetables each year to support our camp community.
What Our Gardens Provide:
• Fresh, Local Produce: Our gardens supply the majority of our salads and fulfill most of our kitchen’s vegetable needs, ensuring every meal is packed with freshness and flavor.
• A Hands-On Experience: Campers and visiting students are involved in every stage of the growing process, including:
• Composting and enriching the soil.
• Planting and transplanting seedlings.
• Weeding, harvesting, and learning about sustainable gardening practices.
A Balanced Approach to Meals:
While our kitchen primarily serves plant-based meals, we feature locally sourced meat for Saturday dinners, celebrating the bounty of our region and the connections we have with local farmers.
At Camp W, our gardens are more than just a place to grow food—they’re an opportunity to connect with the land, learn sustainable practices, and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the earth’s gifts.

Our Kitchen & Food: Nourishment with Purpose
Delicious, Home-Grown or Locally Sourced, and Home-Cooked Meals
At Camp W, we redefine “camp food” with meals that are wholesome, nutritious, and primarily plant-based. Our dedicated culinary team ensures every dish provides the fuel campers need for action-packed days filled with adventure and growth.
Redefining Camp Food
Gone are the days of bland and uninspired camp meals. At Camp W, we serve the kind of healthy, whole foods that your grandparents might have enjoyed—fresh, simple, and nourishing. There’s nothing quite like the joy of eating straight from the garden combined with the moral satisfaction of making choices that are good for both our bodies and the planet.
A Commitment to Sustainability
Countless studies remind us of the importance of returning to our roots and making intentional choices to care for the earth. At Camp W, we embrace this responsibility by:
• Growing much of our produce in our own gardens.
• Sourcing additional ingredients from local farms and CSAs.
• Minimizing our environmental footprint through sustainable practices.
Harmony with Nature
Whether it’s the soil we cultivate, the atmosphere we breathe, or the oceans we cherish, Camp W teaches the value of repairing, regrowing, and living in harmony with the natural world. Each meal becomes an opportunity to reflect on the interconnectedness of our lives with the earth and our collective responsibility to care for it.
At Camp W, food is more than sustenance—it’s a way of life, a source of energy, and a celebration of our shared commitment to the planet and one another.
Farm-to-Table Dining at Camp W
At Camp W in Vermont, every meal is a celebration of connection—to the land, to each other, and to the food we eat. Meals at Camp W are more than just delicious—they’re a creative endeavor led with care by our farmers and chefs. Using fresh, locally sourced, and homegrown ingredients, every dish is thoughtfully prepared to nourish both body and spirit.
