Mentoring your children for 101 years
Why Camp W?
At Camp W we work daily to achieve a cultural intervention that will bring a necessary and healthy relationship with the natural world back into our modern lives. Full of gratitude for all the earth provides. We are champions of land and village, and navigators of an epic world that does truly exist. We are adventurers who respect the true beauty of our experiences and those we share it with, even if it’s just ourselves. We are a community where we remember the celebration of hearth, health, and heart through respect for the land and the timeless human story. Invest in and honor your children, we will share the tools we have learned over lifetimes in order to live a fulfilling life of self awareness!
Camp W is a wilderness based home away from home for youth ages 7-17. Campers stay in three walled cabins, called Adirondack shelters on main campus, with opportunities to sleep in a hammock from home, a shelter that they build, or under the stars at our primitive camping locations. Campers are nourished by our wholesome restaurant quality vegetarian diet. Your children get to choose between exciting daily adventurous activities like climbing, archery, boating, swimming, ancient weaponry or slower options like yoga, mindfulness, breath-work, gardening, fishing, music, arts & crafts, and many more. Multi-week campers can also register for backcountry backpacking trips.
We work with each camper to try new things and hone existing skills to enrich lives through learning, connection, and experiences. Whether new to the woods or a seasoned camper we see the light in each camper shine at Camp W!
Our campers have come from all corners of the world to experience the Camp W community and foster life-long relationships with the natural world through exceptional mentoring, nature education, and exciting activities.

Stewardship
The diverse and wild ecosystems that span more than 150 acres across our mountain offer the best of convenience and vast natural beauty to explore.
We role model a sense of appreciation, gratitude, and reverence for the abundance that the natural world provides. Through this awareness we begin to see our direct impact and the great potential we each have to nurture the health of our environment as well as our human family. Leading from the heart in all of our interactions has illuminated our lives in ways that we model for youth in order to live a life of abundance.
We have passion for each activity we lead, story we share, and skill we teach as we draw from a place of personal inspiration. In doing so we create a learning atmosphere that motivates campers to explore nature, to practice skills, and to integrate their experiences in their home communities.
We support individual growth by encouraging each participant to see and move beyond their perceived limits while experiencing and exploring their roles in a supportive community. We believe that by achieving the balance of individual & group mind we are fostering a generation of courageous, innovative, knowledgeable, and caring human beings.
Spring Fed Pond
High atop our mountain at Camp W, a small spring-fed trout pond offers fantastic activities for fun in the sun. Whether kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, or swimming the pond can be a source of endless entertainment for any camper.
Take a moment to look closer, and you’ll find frogs, salamanders, and other critters who call the pond home. Slow down, stretch, and soak up some rays on the adjacent pond deck. Or watch the winter cold turn the pond to a sheet of ice, and, if conditions are right, go for an ice skate!
During the regular summer schedule, campers will have plenty of time to enjoy the pond in their favorite way.
TheVillage
WELCOME TO CAMP W: A NATURAL PLACE TO GROW
A Village thrives through reciprocity: getting support and giving support. Since Camp’s founding in 1924 by M. Pearl Berry, tens of thousands of youth have visited our land, tried new experiences, watered seeds of growth within themselves, and then taken those experiences back into the world to share with others. Now for nearly a century countless staff, parents, and students have supported Camps mission. Our teachers work every day to fulfill that same community promise towards greater connection for all generations and the future.
Camp W is a family organization, but we are not simply limited to one family. Like a true village, brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, husbands and wives, aunties and uncles, grandmas and grandpas from many different kinds of families work side-by-side for the greater good. We value instilling care and respect for the natural world and the community we serve. Here at Camp W you often get the feeling of "old friends” though we just met.
